ABOUT US
WHO WE ARE
About 10 years ago, some friends of ours bought a chalet in la Tzoumaz, which gave us the opportunity to meet up and explore the area with our children on regular visits. From the start we fell in love with the resort, as it had everything that a family could wish for on vacation in the alps, both in summer and in winter.
Eventually we decided to invest in our own family chalet in 2012. Family and friends visit us regularly, but we’d love for it to be used year round and we look forward to be welcoming you and your friends or family to Chalet les Chablis in the near future.
Getting there
From Geneva, take the motorway direction Lausanne, the Grand St Bernard, Simplon. Continue along the lake and take exit 24 (Riddes), situated half-way between Martigny and Sion, and follow signage for la Tzoumaz. Follow the mountain road up for approximately 15km (and nearly as many hairpin bends).
When you arrive into the village, stay on main road and pass in front of the Telecabine (bubble lift) and Tourist Information office, and continue uphill for another 1km. Follow signs indicating Maison de la Foret and baby lift.
When you arrive at the Etablons - Heineken bar and round about, take the first exit and pass through the tunnel which goes underneath the ski piste. Continue for 50m, there is a row of covered parking spaces on your left. Chalet Chablis has 2 private places roughly in the middle, marked by snowflake stickers on the walls. A maximum of 2 cars can park there. Additional free parking spaces are available the other side of the tunnel, by the roundabout.
As it is a ski-in/ski-out chalet, right on the slopes, it is accessible by foot up a snow covered path for about 150m, just up to the left at the end of the garage row.
Summertime, as soon as the snow melts, the chalet is accessible by car and has one additional parking space available just outside the chalet.
THE SLOPES
Connected to the 4 Valleys, Verbier and La Tzoumaz are part of Switzerland’s largest ski area with more than 400 km of beautifully groomed pistes. With additional off piste snow activities such as ski touring, heli-skiing, and off-piste skiing on world-famous marked itineraries, the ski area just has it all.
But the joys of snow sports aren’t just for skiers and boarders – hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing trails also enables you to enjoy the fabulous nature close up.
For even more fun, take your family or friends on the La Tzoumaz sledge run, the longest in the French-speaking part of Switzerland (10km), The resort of La Tzoumaz is located on the North facing slopes which mean that the domain enjoys good quality snow for much longer than the sunnier south facing slopes. Typically skiing lasts until Easter.
